About Me

Azhar Mahmood

Digital Communications Specialist

7 years ago I started building websites from a small city in Pakistan. Since then I’ve delivered 100+ projects for international clients, earned a Top Rated status on PeoplePerHour, managed digital marketing for a Spain-based agency, and provided pro-bono digital support to nonprofits. I’ve built a strong technical foundation, but what drives me now is taking those skills beyond freelancing, into organizations where digital work directly serves communities. I’m actively working toward international development roles, field deployments, volunteer placements, and hybrid positions that let me contribute where it genuinely matters.

I want to use digital communications to support work that actually matters. That means helping organizations tell their story clearly, reach the people they serve, and stay connected with the donors and communities backing them. That means managing websites, running newsletters, and building the kind of digital presence a nonprofit needs but often doesn’t have time to build for itself.

VOLUNTEER EXPERIENCE

Organizations I've Supported

Provided free Volunteer Digital Consultancy to nonprofits across the United States through Catchafire’s pro-bono platform, helping mission-driven organizations strengthen their online presence, improve communications, and reach more of the people they serve. No fee. No contract. Just skills where they were needed.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

My hands-on NGO experience so far has been through structured pro bono projects, including communications/marketing consulting delivered through Catchafire. My paid experience is in WordPress development and digital marketing for international clients, which is the technical foundation I bring to nonprofit communications work. I'm actively seeking my first paid role in the sector.

I'm specifically targeting the home-based-with-field-missions model: remote communications work with periodic in-country travel for trainings, launches, or events. When I do travel for a mission, I also document it, turning field visits into behind-the-scenes video content that shows the organization's work directly, not just a written report after the fact.

Newsletter design and donor communications, WordPress website management, search visibility and content strategy, and email marketing systems, Photography, Videography, automation.

Yes, my current and past roles have involved coordinating with international clients across multiple time zones.
